Don't mind The Colonel's sword from Halloween in the corner.
"The stockings were hung by the [large clock] with care"
I'm still trying to figure out the best place for the nativity...
And I need another Christmas decoration for the middle peg. (Don't tell The Colonel)
So the last few weeks have been pretty busy. I spent multiple days celebrating my birthday with friends and family. The Colonel said it wasn't fair that I had more than one birthday :) Some events included: presents, a fabulous party, Chef's table (thanks Dave and Aubree for the gift-card), The Scarlet Pimpernale, Guru's breakfast (amazing!), Carabbas, Harry Potter, and lots of photos. Thanks Justin for the pictures from my birthday party - can't wait to see them!
School is almost over and I cannot wait for this semester to be done. It has been killer. As I type I'm putting off two major research papers I've yet to start: yet somehow I keep finding things to do to avoid the unbearable.
In the meantime I had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner with The Colonel's parents. I always think I can fit more in my stomach than I really can. It was a nice lazy day of watching football (sleeping), visiting, and eating. I did learn how to make stuffing and gravy. (Thanks Cathie!) I also spent a good chunk of time planning the Black Friday shopping.
This is always a very exciting thing for us Lundberg girls. The Colonel makes fun of us, just like my dad. But I love it! And I won't give it up. This year started earlier than ever...or later? We were at Old Navy by midnight. I tried sleeping from 10-11:30, but it just didn't work out too well. We were very grateful to get there when we did and were out of there in 45 min. We got our usual Christmas Even pajamas and I got some very cute clothes ranging from 10-15 dollars.
However, since we did get done so early we had two hours to kill before Kohls opened at 3 AM. We got some donuts and hot chocolate (and diet coke) and just talked and laughed in the car. We tried to sleep...but that just wasn't happening with the 6 of us. Carly even braved the Black Friday shopping...I guess once you turn 9 you are eligible to pull an all nighter in the cold. (The best was that Carly fell asleep in the car on the way home and nobody noticed she never left the car...she said she was very warm sleeping there from 6-8 in the morning when my dad found her.)
Kohls we had the same system of my mom standing on line while we run around finding the stuff we want. I found...more clothes. We avoid the electronics since that is what everyone else goes for.
Target was the last stop at 4 AM and mom couldn't even come in because there was NO parking. And the lines at Target were NONEXISTENT! I did get my $25 pre-lit 6 ft. Christmas tree. And my sisters found the 6th Harry Potter so I believe they have the complete collection now. We did miss out on the 42" Westinghouse TV for $300.00 - not that we were trying for it.
We got home at 5:30 AM and I could only sleep till 9. I was annoyed. So I went to do laundry and get my Christmas decorations I had left at my parents. I came home and immediately began decorating. I'm sure the decorations will evolve and change from now to Christmas because I can't keep things the same for too long and I change my mind too often. But here are the pictures for now...found at the top because I'm too lazy to move them to the bottom. Plus pictures are more fun to look at.
